Rachel K. Berngartt, DVM

Rachel K. Berngartt, DVM is a 2001 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.  She has been living in and loving Alaska since 2002.  Currently, she has completed her first year of law school at Seattle University School of Law.  Dr. Berngartt is a member of the Alaska State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners, a public member of the University of Alaska Fairbanks Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), and has completed 6 seasons of Weddell Seal science with the National Science Foundation United States Antarctic Program (2011-2016) based out of McMurdo Station, Antarctica. She is also an agreement holder with the NMFS Marine Mammal Stranding Network.

Dr. Berngartt has participated as a trail vet in 2 Iditarods (2015 and 2017) and looks forward to her 4th season serving Alaska Icefield Expeditions' canine athletes.
